It consists of a support with mounted millimetre scale, a spiral spring, a hanger for weights. The scale is 12cm long, engraved on a plane mirror to permit parallax illumination by reflection and mounted with elevation adjustment on a support rod. The steel spring 1cm in diameter and 3 cm long when upstretched is suspended from a hook above the scale. Weights not included.
